PARIS (Day 3/5) - Palace of Versailles

PARIS DAY 3
Good morning :D
Gare De Versailles Chateau Rive Gauche is the train station that you would need to alight to get to Palace of Versailles.
We purchased our entrance tickets from this ticket office which is located just opposite the train station. Don't worry as it's very easy to spot it because that's where everyone would walk towards after exiting the train station. Each ticket costs 25euros per person for a One-Day Pass covering the Chateau (Palace), Jardins (Gardens) and Trianon (Domaine de Marie Antoinette).
You would be given a map to get yourself prepared to explore the palace!
The Courtyard of Honour.
This is how the entrance is supposed to look like (shot taken in the evening) but...
The queue was pretty crazy in the morning haha. But we came around 10am so we only queued for about half an hour which was still alright!
It practically rained the entire day which made the walking around slightly inconvenient but well, we've got no choice since we paid for it already so just gotta keep going!
The Royal Courtyard.
Here we go..! First off, the palace (self-guided) tour.
One of the King's Bedchamber that he hardly sleeps in (if I don't recall wrongly lol)
The grand King's Bedchamber.
The Queen's Bedchamber which I really love!
The area where the King & Queen had supper with their grandchildren.
The Angelina cafe, famous for its (slightly pricey) white hot chocolate. I didn't get to try it though~
Breathtaking view of the Parterre from one of the windows in the palace.
On our way towards Marie Antoinette's Estate, who was also the only queen to have imposed her personal taste on Versailles.
The Estate was a haven of tranquility and intimacy for her.
Restoration by Napoleon restored the Estate to its full coherence. Perfectly preserved, it is a marvelous expression of the refinement and the fantasy of the art of living and thinking in the 18th century.
Just something random and hilarious to share about my brother~
The moment he saw this plantation, he literally went "I'm hungry~~~" wth lol!
My favourite color! So pretty :)
Anyways, I'm just SO GLAD we made it out (alive) because we kinda got lost in Marie Antoinette's Estate OMG! I was really scared that we wouldn't be able to find our way out and ended up sleeping inside the estate :X At that moment, my only wish was to find buildings and human beings ASAP in order to calm myself down & know that I'm not gonna die in there lolll~ Sounds pretty crazy, huh? The feeling was totally wts haha! Moral of the story is: Try not to get too charmed by the greenery; remember where you started and just walk the same way back!! Just don't try to take any shortcuts because you might just regret it lol. Luckily I didn't go with my brother's suggestions for shortcuts; I really can't imagine having to spend the night in there and waiting for someone to save us out hahaha. Nonetheless, it was pretty fun exploring around and definitely an adventurous day to remember!

Alright till later! x

With love,
Shirley
