YouTube: How To Accessorize A Basic Black Maxi Dress

Hello! So for the past few days, I've been working on a fashion-related video which I'm glad to say it's finally done!! It's my very first time filming something like this and I really have to thank my brother for helping out! To be clear, I'm no fashion-guru or any sort but it's been pretty fun experiencing new stuffs and brainstorming new video ideas to work on for my youtube channel! Hope you enjoy this week's video! :D

Fashion: Princessa's Royal Boutique (January Faves)

There's always a couple of things that most shoppers will take note when it comes to online shopping.

♡ Price (especially when there's sales)
♡ Quality of Purchase
♡ Delivery Speed
Service

At Princessa, I'm really satisfied with the overall shopping experience and of course, good things are meant to be shared! I always have a thing for maxi dresses; feminine, easy to style yet not at all sloppy depending on how you accessorize and style your look. I would say that this dress was almost love at first sight when it caught my eye. Trust me, there is more to this dress than meets the eye -- Keep scrolling and you'll understand why ;)
First it's this sexy side slit~
Then it's this sheer lace design which I'm soo in love with~!
Whether it's a date night or just a night out with friends, this dress will definitely add a little spice to everyone's night ;)

I also got this heart-shaped ring in brick-red colour featuring rhinestone embellishments c/o Princessa! Last time I checked, there's only 1 left in stock for this ring in gun metal colour! PLUS it's on sale now for only $6 (instead of $10)! Hurry up and grab it before it's gone!

Talking about delivery speed and service, it was certainly a joy to see my package being delivered promptly at the stated date and timeslot of my choice! Not only that, when I received an email from them stating that my order has been completed, I feel that this level of customer service and trust build by Princessa is something worth mentioning :) Maybe because I'm also in the service industry, so I understand that good customer service should never be taken for granted. And given that blogshop competition is so stiff nowadays, little things like these do play a big part in the long run! By the way, Princessa now ships internationally! Happy Shopping! x

A Quarter of a Century Old - Part 3 ♡

I'm back with the second last post of my birthday celebration! If you've read my previous two birthday posts "A Quarter of a Century Old - Part 1" and "A Quarter of a Century Old - Part 2", you'd know it all surrounds food, food and more food lol! Well, today's post is no exception as we are bringing in the legendary lobsters from Pince and Pints!!! Everyone has been raving about the lobsters but I just didn't had the chance to try it yet. So big big thanks to my dear friends who fulfilled my wish and satisfied my cravings!

With only 3 lobster dishes on the menu to choose from (each priced at $48++), we decided to order one each just so that our tummy have enough space for Round 2 at Pasta Brava! If you're thinking of how many lobsters to order upon your visit, ideally 1 lobster dish is good enough for 1 pax! But of course, feel free to order as many as you wish! ;)
Friends since 2004 <3
The 2 S - Sharon, Shirley (me)
The 3 Ks - Keng Kang, Kelvin, Kianwee :D
Whole Lobster
(Choice of Grilled or Steamed -
Mesclun Salad, Sour Cherry & Balsamic Dressing, Shoestring Fries, Herbed Butter Sauce)
The Lobster Roll
(Mesclun Salad, Sour Cherry & Balsamic Dressing, Shoestring Fries)
Chilli Lobster
(Fried Mantou, Homemade Fresh Tomato & Chilli Sauce)

Honestly, I can't remember when was the last time I had lobsters but all I can say is that Pince and Pints definitely set a pretty high standard for all lobster lovers out there! If I had to choose, my top favourites would be the Whole Lobster and Lobster Roll!! Omg seriouslyyy, it's kinda hard to get over those sweet, succulent chunks of lobster goodness~ *droooools*

Afterwards, we headed to Pasta Brava for second round but first, I have a confession to make :x I didn't note down those fancy names of the food we ordered because it's just too... fancy LOL. Okayy no la I really forget hehe~ But you can show the staff the pictures I took if you want to order any of it! Hmm I would say that the ambience is good (esp for dating) hahaha, the food was okay but not that fantastic till the extent that I would rave about it.
Once we were all done with second round, our last stop was a pub at BQ to chill, sing karaoke and play some games~
It was a (pre-planned) jumpsuit affair that night :p
Bought this super comfy jumpsuit during my previous Taiwan trip!
She's just too cool for school ;)
This clique is really special and unique on its own. We may not catch up very often but whenever we do, the familiarity and love we have for each other is just, too precious. Thank you loves for everything that night! <3

Uncovering The Truth About Meeting Someone At The Wrong Time

I just read a very thought-provoking article from thoughtcatalog by Heidi Priebe on “The truth about meeting someone at the wrong time”. Some people agree with the article, others beg to differ.

The article talked about “timing”, something that is always NOT within our control. It is true. If you’re happily in love, you’ll probably feel that the “right timing” is finally here, and that what's happening right now is all meant to be. But if for certain reasons you’re not able to be with that someone, you’ll most likely find yourself struggling and experiencing helplessness with the so-called “wrong timing”.

Here’s the main gist of the article (as quoted): the people we meet at the wrong time are actually just the wrong person.

Did someone just appear in your mind the moment you read that sentence? If yes, don’t worry; you’re not alone. I used to ask myself, “Why? Just why?” And after so many years, I stopped questioning the unknown and instead tell myself this: There must be a good reason why I was meant to meet that person. Find out the reason and then move on.

It’s never easy to face up to reality. What’s even tougher is making that attempt to change your daily routine with that person. You get so used to the daily texts that when it stopped, everything around you kind of stops too. You suddenly realize that you have problems keeping up with your own schedule or to-do-list, just because you’re checking your phone every other minute.  You know you shouldn’t bottle things up, so you talked to your closest friends hoping they can knock some sense into your brain and heart. But then you still wake up to a brand new day, only to find yourself stuck at yesterday.

Some say it’s easier to move on by "hating" the person. I tried that once many years back, and failed. I just couldn’t attain peace within myself with hate. I feel that hate is just to mask the pain, which is perhaps the worst thing you can do to yourself. Because the moment you try to lift up that hate, your emotional pain is even more overwhelming, as if you’ve never moved on at all.

With that said, it's time to come clean and find out the reason why, not for anyone but for yourself. Give your heart the peace it deserves. Tell yourself: I want to do well for myself even when you’re not going to be around anymore.

A Quarter of a Century Old - Part 1 ♡

As you can see from the title, I officially turned 25 last Friday! I don't know what to exactly feel knowing that I am slightly older *lol* but I do know that I'm showered with lots of love, which is more than enough for me :))
This year's birthday is slightly special because I get to have dinner with my whole family, that means including my dad :) Well, I shan't put up the details here but all I can say is it's been a really long time since my family ate together. Even though so much had happened over the past few years, it kind of reaches a point where we gradually learnt to forgive, forget and move on with life.

We had dinner at Dian Xiao Er @ VivoCity and ordered the Family Set for 4 pax ($88++) which was sufficient for the 5 of us! Food was great, so be prepared to droool hehe :p
Soup of the day (oops I can't remember hehe)
Duck Roasted with Angelica Herbs (my FAV)
Baby Kai-Lan with Salted Fish & Lime
Hong Kong Style Steamed Fish Slices
We replaced the Dong Po Pork with some prawns instead! (I forgot the exact name though~)
Braised Assorted Mushrooms with Broccoli
My brother who recently did very well for his O lvls!! Yayyy good job!! ^^
Look who came to join! The one & only Joy :D
Always sensitive to her touch hahaha!
Thank you for the lovely surprisesss!!
My first ever rainbow rose; SO PRETTY I CAN'T EVEN.
Thank you for making me feel so beautiful <3
Sing song time! Hahaha I love this shot so much!!
I wish.....
May my wish come true hehe.
The Joy of my life :)
Picture perfect <3
Another thing I learnt to do different this year was instead of receiving birthday angbao from my mum, I'm now the one giving her a red packet to 表示孝道 :) Thank you Master Fu Yun for sharing this with me! It really makes a whole lot of difference, because not only will this gesture brings good karma, but also serves as a reminder for us to not forget the hardship our parents faced when raising us up. No more angbao from mummy anymore... 我真的长大了 hahaha.

After we got home, I had a photoshoot for my rainbow rose lol! By the way, 5 days have passed and I'm proud to announce that my rose is still going strong!! Good job babyyy!
I'm...
So...
In...
...LOVE!

But I have to admit, the winner shot goes to..
...this!! OMG so pretty right?!
Credits to Joy for this super chiooo shot!!

So that's about it for Part 1 of my birthday, mainly with my family & Joy on the actual day! :D My closest friends did celebrate with me on separate occasions and honestly, all of them deserve a dedicated post which will be up throughout the week!! I pretty much visited like 4 cafes over a span of 1 week plus? Lol that's the number of new posts you can look forward to! Till later~ :)

With love,
Shirley
